Dozent Acceptable Use Policy
Effective August 18, 2026 · Last updated August 18, 2026
Dozent publishes audio tours about real places. This policy sets out what may and may not be published, and how we enforce it. It forms part of our Terms of Service and applies to everything on the platform — audio, transcripts, photographs, titles, descriptions and creator profiles.
Every tour is reviewed by a person before it can be published or sold. Nothing reaches the public catalogue automatically.
Prohibited content
Do not publish, and do not attempt to sell, anything that contains or promotes:
- Sexual or adult material — pornography, sexual services, escort or companionship services, or sexually explicit audio or imagery of any kind.
- Child sexual abuse material, or any sexualisation of minors. We report this to the authorities without exception.
- Hate speech — attacks, slurs or dehumanising content targeting people by race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, age or immigration status.
- Violence — threats, incitement, glorification of violence or terrorism, or content promoting a violent extremist organisation.
- Harassment of an identifiable person, including doxxing or publishing someone's private information without consent.
- Illegal activity, or instructions that facilitate it — including trespass onto private or restricted property.
- Regulated or restricted goods and services — drugs and drug paraphernalia, tobacco and vaping products, weapons, ammunition, explosives, gambling, cryptocurrency or securities offerings, prescription medication, counterfeit goods, or human or wildlife trafficking.
- Financial, legal or medical advice presented as professional guidance.
- Infringing material — music, recordings, photographs, readings or writing you do not have the right to use. Assume a work is protected unless you have confirmed otherwise.
- Deceptive content — impersonating a person, business, museum or institution; falsely implying an official endorsement or affiliation; or fabricating an identity.
- Malware, phishing, spam, or links intended to defraud.
- Physical goods or services. Dozent sells audio tours only.
Standards for tours
Beyond the prohibitions above, a tour must meet a basic standard of quality and care:
- Be accurate. Present history and facts honestly. Distinguish established fact from legend or speculation. Do not invent quotations, statistics or events.
- Send people somewhere safe and lawful. Do not route listeners onto private property, into restricted or hazardous areas, or across dangerous roads or railways.
- Respect sensitive places. Memorials, burial grounds, places of worship and sites of atrocity or disaster deserve a factual, respectful register. Do not sensationalise suffering or treat a site of death as entertainment.
- Respect living people and communities. Do not record identifiable individuals without consent, and describe communities as they would recognise themselves.
- Deliver what you sold. A paid tour must match its title, description and images, and must be complete and audible.
Prohibited conduct
- Manipulating sales, earnings or payouts, including self-purchase to inflate figures.
- Using stolen payment credentials, or any fraudulent transaction.
- Providing false identity or tax information during payout onboarding.
- Operating multiple accounts to evade enforcement.
- Circumventing paywalls or access controls, or redistributing tours you purchased.
- Scraping or bulk-downloading the catalogue.
- Interfering with the service or other users.
How we enforce this
Enforcement is proportionate to what happened and whether it looks deliberate.
- Before publication — a submitted tour that breaches this policy is rejected, with an explanation where practical.
- After publication — we remove or unpublish the tour. Where it was sold, buyers keep access only if the content remains lawful and safe; otherwise we remove access and Apple handles refunds.
- Repeat or serious breaches — we suspend or terminate the account.
- Fraud — immediate termination, forfeiture of any unpaid balance, and referral to the relevant authorities or payment providers.
- Illegal content — removal and referral to law enforcement.
Reporting a problem
Anyone can report a tour from inside the app: open the tour, choose "Report a concern", pick a reason and add any detail. Reports reach us immediately and are triaged by a person. You can also write to hello@dozent.world.
If you believe content infringes your copyright or trademark, email us with a description of the work, the tour concerned, your contact details, and a statement that you believe the use is unauthorised. We remove infringing material promptly.
Appeals
If we reject or remove your tour, or restrict your account, and you think we got it wrong, reply to the notice we sent or write to the address above. A person will review it and respond. We do not make enforcement decisions automatically.
Changes
We may update this policy as the platform grows. The "Last updated" date above will change, and material changes will be announced in the app.
